You are a patient and disciplined financial planner, and as a result, you are called the zodiac's builder. Having a nest egg is vital to Taurus' sense of security and happiness. The ancient astrologers wrote that Taurus is trustworthy, and will excel at making money, not only for themselves but for others, too. The ancient astrologers were right, which is why you see so many Taurus in the fields of banking, securities, and insurance. An earth sign, many Taurus are also talented real estate developers and brokers.

Before making any investment, you look for practical, logical reasons to participate, and you put a great deal of emphasis on careful, painstaking research. You dislike quick decision-making and prefer careful deliberation, because you invest for the long haul. You carefully factor in all the possible future ups and downs of a particular stock before you buy it. Do Taurus ever sell their stock? Sure, but only after they have lost faith in the management of the company they've invested in.

Taurus is also an accumulator of lovely things. When you spend, you like to spend for things of long-lasting quality, and you only buy from reputable dealers. You don't mind shelling out for something that others may consider an extravagance, but which you think is a necessity, like a massage, dinner at a four-star restaurant, a fine bottle of wine, elegant new car, or diamonds for the one you love (or as a gift for yourself!) Luxury goods and services are your weakness, but since you work so hard, you well deserve the occasional pampering. Capricorn may be motivated by prestige, Aries for the chance to lead others, Pisces for artistic expression, Cancer to take care of family, but Taurus works for money, security, and the ability to (what else?) shop for nice things! The areas ruled by Taurus -- the arts, cosmetics, fragrance, insurance, real estate, gourmet food, wines, precious metals and gems -- are all good industries for you to work in.

Hint: In charts of successful CEO's, many have important planets placed in Taurus -- a good indicator of future wealth. You've got the potential, so be sure you use it!

Your Financial Outlook for the Year 2000 and Beyond

You should look forward to the year 2000. A very special cosmic event occurs in May 2000, when not one but SEVEN planets in Taurus line up in the heavens. This is an extraordinary confluence of planetary energy in your sign, and has never been seen before! By anyone's estimation, Taurus will be the leader of the zodiac's parade in May 2000 -- an enviable position indeed. With Jupiter's favor plus the help of six other planets, you will feel very much "in your element." Your tastes, instincts, views, and opinions are likely to be shared by society in general, making you feel very much a part of the "in" crowd.

Yet this period is not without peril. Uranus and Neptune will challenge your success and could prove to be quite disruptive professionally. Positioned in your career sector, the placement of these planets suggests you may have to deal with some sort of unexpected change. This could be anything from a big political shakeup at your company or a changeover of clients, if you are self-employed. Any change can provide opportunity, so don't try to buck the tide (something Taurus is known to do). You will be more in control than you may think you are at the time. A global stock market correction may occur in the year 2000, and if so, you may still be in a secure position if you have been careful with your investments.

Later, you will have plenty of planetary action in your sector of earned income. Jupiter (bringer of gifts and luck) will be in your 2nd sector of income from June 30, 2000 to July 13, 2001. This bodes well for your earning power, and indicates that you will earn more money than you have ever made before in your life. However, Saturn, the planet of self-discipline, will also be in this same 2nd sector of income from August 2000 to June 2003. The first part of this trend, which spans from present day until July 2001, will be your best and most productive. This is not only because you will be able to make money, but because Saturn will see to it that you can hold on to it. Be sure to stash some of your cash while it comes to you in such abundance.

After July 2001, making money will become a little harder to do. Employers will be cutting back on overhead costs and it will be more difficult to increase your income. You can make good money, certainly, but you will have to work harder -- it won't come as easily.

One last note: Pluto, the planet of transformation, will be transiting your 8th sector until near the end of the year 2008. You can harness some of the strongest of Pluto's rays, for this is a very comfortable, favorable place for Pluto to be. Pluto will bring you chunks of money from powerful people -- perhaps venture capitalists, banks or other "angels" who are in a position to help you financially. Since Pluto suggests the investors you are dealing with are heavy-hitters, don't be tempted to "give away the store" to vultures -- be sure the deal is fair. An unexpected prize, inheritance, settlement or some other kind of unearned income could literally change your life. This is not a time to gamble (that's 5th sector activity), but to invest with special prudence and conservatism. Taurus, this is a wonderful time to be alive, so use your natural smarts to plan your path to the top!
