Leo Forecast for April 2014

By Susan Miller

This is will be a big month because it holds two eclipses. We typically get four eclipses a year, and those set up big themes that bring news and progress. Eclipses look for weaknesses in relationships and in situations, and if they find any, the eclipses will show you so you can decide what to do. If you were not able to make changes in a deteriorating situation, or didn't know the situation had weak elements, the eclipses will make the decisions for you. That is never ideal, but if you have not found the strength to leave a bad situation, this month you will be released from it. Eclipses speed our timetables, insist on progress, and bring a large floodlight of truth to a situation, too, making a puzzling situation suddenly quite clear.

This month there will be two eclipses, and both will be fraught with angry aspects emanating from planets (Pluto, Uranus, Mars, and Jupiter) in cardinal signs of Capricorn, Aries, Libra, and Cancer. You are a fixed sign, so you are not about to feel the hardest aspects - they are around you, but not aiming for you.

The first eclipse will be a total eclipse of the moon in Libra, April 15, and the second will be a new moon solar eclipse in Taurus on April 28/29 (depending on your time zone). The second one, at month's end, will be the one for you to watch. The Sun is your sign's guardian star, so solar eclipses always affect Leo more than other signs. Additionally, the second eclipse April 28/29 is due to affect you more because it will land on a key angle of your chart. It could well turn out to be beneficial - let me show you the month, because in April, all things seem to build gradually, day by day.

Travel will be a dominant theme as the month opens. You will be under the influence of a new moon, March 30, still issuing a very strong influence in the first two weeks of April. You may need to take a long trip, possibly to negotiate a deal with a client. Your sign is ruled by the Sun, but on April 2, the Sun will conjunct Uranus, so either you will be a powerhouse of creativity and ideas or feel that the world has turned upside down and no one around you - especially not a boss or client - is sounding rational.

On the next day, April 3, Pluto will challenge the Sun, and you may feel very pushed around by a client or boss, almost forcing you to accept a direction that you find hard to swallow. You may find subordinates are disrespectful and too big for their britches, overestimating their value to the company and ready to take credit for all you worked so hard to achieve. This is certainly not a day for big meetings or presentations.

This would also not be the right time to sign a contract. So much dust is about to be kicked up by this new moon (which is not an eclipse) in early April, and with these other aspects I just mentioned, it will be very difficult to see if you have forgotten to add a clause that would bring problems later.

This same new moon, activating your ninth house of concepts, dogma, ideas, and intellectual pursuits, also rules college and graduate school, immigration, citizenship, passports, green cards, and visas. If you knew you needed to deal with one of these matters soon, it will come up now. Also, the fact that this house deals in information, publishing and broadcasting assignments also fall under its domain.

The March 30 new moon was under siege by Pluto in Capricorn, Mars in Libra, and Uranus in Aries. (You can add Jupiter in Cancer, but Jupiter will never pose an affliction as the planet of supreme goodness.) If you can put off until May a trip you were to take in April, it may be a good idea. However, having said that, there is a reason why you may not be able to do so, for new moons and full moons tend to set the agenda.

Do the best you can, but with Uranus, the planet of unpredictable events, conjunct the Sun, things may go either way, usually in the extreme. While you may hear celebratory news, they might bring just the opposite - this is the nature of Uranus. I cannot tell you which way things will go, but I will say this: you don't have to plan for happy outcomes, but you need to protect yourself for things that may go wrong. This new moon sets up the possibility for instability, so that's why I'd like you to be careful.

The full moon lunar eclipse on April 15 in Libra 25 degrees may bring a need to travel, this time closer to home. It may be for business, so call ahead and make sure the appointments still stand. Everyone, including the people you are hoping to see, will be under these wild aspects and may be distracted by other things going on in their lives outside of the office. You see why it would be a bad time to travel for an important meeting.

Nevertheless, a negotiation you've done all month may now reach a finish. At the time of this full moon eclipse, Pluto will challenge Mars and Uranus. Uranus will conjoin Mercury, the ruler of contracts, and still be close enough to oppose Mars, making for a landscape of jangled nerves. I will again advise you not to travel or sign documents.

At the same time, your office may be a bubbling pot, with personnel coming and going, especially at the co-worker or subordinate level. Be prepared for a trusted assistant to suddenly leave. Assignments may change, or clients may come or go. You may need to hire new recruits, but not yet - take your time. This is a full moon total eclipse of the moon, so a woman may be leaving your sphere, and that may stop you in your tracks.

I want the dust to settle so that you can see the lay of the land before you make any decisions. Your sister, brother, or cousin may be in the news in your family, too, at eclipse time April 15, and it is also possible that other relatives in your life who have become more prominent in the early part of the month - an aunt, uncle, or in-law, for example (but not one of your parents) - will also still be on your mind. Sit tight and listen for news, and then, as the great manager you are known to be, dear Leo, you can direct others' actions to solve any dilemma that may arise.

If your birthday falls on August 17, plus or minus five days, despite the pandemonium, you will find ways to deal with this lunar eclipse and turn the tables so that you eventually benefit.

Be very careful with investments - Venus will be conjunct Neptune on April 11 in your solar eighth house of other people's money, which might cloud facts or your thinking when it comes to choices you make for stocks and bonds in mid-month. This is a time in the US when everyone is investing in their retirement accounts before tax day (April 15), so be sure to do your due diligence and call your trusted financial advisor to talk things out before you act. The market may be very up and down during this period, so do research and take deliberate actions.

One day when Venus will be in fine angle to Jupiter will be April 17, and on that day, more money may come to you. Financially, you may earn a large commission, licensing fee, royalty, or insurance payout, or you may sell a client a creative idea or piece of art or music. Coincidentally, April 17 would also be a good day for a blind date, so ask friends to set one up if you are single.

Your big moment will come at the second eclipse, April 28/29, a solar new moon eclipse in Taurus, lighting your solar tenth house of prestigious career positions, and including your chances to gain fame, honors, and praise for professional achievement. A new moon eclipse will always open a new path, and in this case it is likely to change conditions in your career.

On the plus side, the eclipse may open up a superb job opportunity that you'll want to interview for within the ten days that follow this eclipse. On the other hand, you may be shocked to see a male boss leave (an eclipse of the sun is always male), and you may be especially disappointed because you may have joined the company with the specific intention of working for that person. Now you may feel lost and abandoned. Give the new boss a chance, for you may like the new person. You can make this eclipse work for you.

If you don't feel the eclipses of this month on April 15 or April 28/29 (75 percent of Leo will feel it then), you may hear news one month to the day later, May 15 and May 29 plus or minus five days, as 20 percent of my readership will. It is possible that you may have already seen news on March 15 or March 29, but only 5 percent would have done so.

At month's end, I want you to know that you will have powerful support from Pluto, the planet of regeneration. You now have the power to remake yourself, in a new and improved way. Yes, it will take effort - nothing in astrology is predestined - but the cosmos will see to it that you will have all the help you need.

Mars will oppose Uranus all month, including near this April 28/29 eclipse, so contractual matters are still likely to be moving in every direction, but none of them in the direction you had hoped. You may get frustrated to the point of anger. This is a wild and wooly month, so you may get good news/bad news about your career, a contract, a media project, immigration, or academia, all at once, and sorting through this is going to be challenging.

That's why you should not rush. Leo who were born within five days of August 1 and have Leo rising at 9 degrees plus or minus five degrees or have a planet in Leo (with the same tolerance) will feel the April 28/29 eclipse and its challenges. Always protect your health (especially the heart) near eclipses, and don't put more on your schedule than you need to do.

Two powerful eclipses due this month make April a turning point time of the year. The first week of April brings surprises, especially on April 2, as your ruler, the Sun will conjunct Uranus. You may be off on a far trip you never expected to take, possibly to complete a work assignment. A lot seems to be riding on the outcome of the work you do now, so stay focused on details. Matters involving passport, visa, immigration, or green card may come up, and you may have to find a way to get through red tape to speed things along.

If traveling by car on a trip this month - and this will become more likely as you move toward the middle of the month - have your car checked and tuned up before heading out. Mars will oppose Uranus in travel houses in the third week, and these two planets will be creating a bit of havoc until month's end. Keep a tool kit and spare tire in your trunk and keep your cell phone powered up as a fail-safe. Include paper maps in your glove compartment in case your GPS sends you on a wrong road.

If you are busy working on a college or graduate school application, put in a request to several to institutions. In a month where nothing will go exactly as planned (sometimes better, sometimes not), you might want to cover all bases.

Romantically, allow a friend to make an introduction, and take it on trust that the person who has volunteered truly does know your taste in love and will try hard to make you happy. A blind date taken on April 17 could click, due to Venus and Jupiter in rare sync.

If you are attached, different planets will come into play for you. Try to get along with your partner despite a few difficult moments that might come up between you both in the second half, especially near April 22-23.

Your career will be the subject of the new moon solar eclipse, April 28/29, which will bring opportunity and radical change. News will require adjustment, but in the long run, those shifts will work to your benefit. This new moon is unusual in that it holds a grand square of four planets - creating tension - between Mars (strife), Uranus (surprise), Pluto (force), and Jupiter (profits). A male VIP or client may leave your company, creating ripples throughout the company.

In this fluid atmosphere, there's an excellent chance you will be given a new title and more responsibility. In assuming your greater powers, you will need to find solutions to challenges that are unfamiliar to you, but those you can master in time. A partner or collaborator, most likely in business, may become an unexpected obstacle on your road to success, so you will be forced to either cajole this person to go along with your point of view, or part ways. You will have the power to do either - the choice will be yours. Have faith, however, that the outcome will favor you, even though you may say you are not so sure! Keep focused and keep brainstorming for ideas, for in the end, the world spins on all that is new.

Venus, the planet ruling this eclipse, will be in fine angle to Saturn, the planet of long-term gain, at month's end, as well as Jupiter, the planet of profit. Although initial professional changes may be daunting, the fact that a golden triangle of three planets will appear says you will have the power to come up with intuitive answers that will stabilize your situation and prove you have what it takes to be an astute leader.

Leo Dates to Note

Most Romantic Dates: April 17, 26, and 29.

Travel may be on your agenda as a result of the new moon March 30, still exerting a flow in the first 10 days of April. The problem is that warring planets will make travel difficult.

At the office, keep an eye on your projects on April 3, for one may go off the rails.

You may be asked to sign a contract on the full moon lunar eclipse on April 15, but it may not be a good idea. Travel will also not go smoothly either.

Financial news will be positive on April 17, for Venus and Jupiter, two planets associated with money, will be in sync.

Do not travel on April 22-23 due to the opposition of Mars to Uranus.

The new moon solar eclipse of April 29 will bring news, shifts, and some political maneuverings at the office and will affect your career. Nevertheless, there will be opportunity for you to rise above this, but you need your wits about you. Any success you achieve will be hard won.

Work on a creative project over the weekend of April 26-27.

Previous Month's Forecast >>>

P.S. for April 2014

Dear Reader,

I am sorry. I know you are anxious to have for my book, The Year Ahead 2014, and although I have written so much for it, including several long bonus chapters, I keep getting sidetracked. I love to write, and for weeks I would build up a good momentum, only to have to stop to write 48,000 words each month for Astrology Zone.

I have been adding the first half of 2015 in the manuscript so you will still have plenty of information. This makes sense, because good fortune Jupiter will tour Leo from July 2014 to August 2015, and taskmaster Saturn will enter Sagittarius on December 23, 2015, for a preview of what is to come, staying until June 14, 2015. Saturn will briefly re-enter Scorpio (where Saturn is now) for a farewell tour of three months, not to return until 2041. In September 17, 2015, Saturn will come back to Sagittarius, but this time, to stay for two years, until December 2019. Saturn has not toured Sagittarius for 29 years, so for everyone this will be a new influence.

Jupiter's entry into Leo will be just as vital, for Jupiter has not visited Leo for twelve years. Fortunately, with Jupiter in a fire sign, and Saturn will be in fire sign Sagittarius too, these two mega-planets will be highly compatible (as they will be this month in water signs) - a rare circumstance, but wonderful when it happens.

Also, in March 2015, the long-standing feud between Uranus and Pluto that started in June 2012 and that has since rattled us all, personally and on the world stage, will finally end. While it will take many months for these two planets to separate far enough from one another to be mathematical significant, by 2015, they will be finally headed in the right direction - apart! For these reasons, 2015 will be a better year than 2014.

Friends who know me well tease me because they know it takes me three times as long to write about difficult aspects as it does positive ones. It is true. Just this month, I was finding that writing the forecasts for every sign took me twelve hours to write each, which is far more than the usual seven hours each. (I write my summaries separately, and those take another week, all together.) I go slowly on those hard aspects because I love you, dear reader, and never want to unnecessarily alarm you. Difficult aspects require a lot more explanation. With my revised manuscript, I will no longer be chained to writing about the seemingly never-ending series of retrogrades that are happening from January to July 1 of 2014, and the very difficult eclipses of April 2014. Those weighed on me. After this month's turning point eclipses, we will look at a better future. In many respects, 2014 will finally get off the ground as a brand new year in July.

I am staying put at home in April, not traveling, so I want to get things done now. Thank you for sticking by me, dear reader. I am very sorry for the long wait.

The Year Ahead 2014 Astrological Calendar

By Susan Miller

My Year Ahead 2014 collectible calendar is $12.99 (at a 27% discount, from original price $17.99) plus shipping, any applicable tax

Calendars are used to mark time, but have you ever had a calendar that helped you use your time productively? My new Year Ahead 2014 Calendar can do just that. I write every word myself in this stunning calendar with original fine art by socialite, author, and fine artist Gloria Vanderbilt, mother of newsman Anderson Cooper, and great grandchild of railroad entrepreneur Cornelius Vanderbilt. (Grand Central Station was originally her great grandfather's business headquarters.)

Gloria Vanderbilt, now almost 90 years young, licensed the reproduction rights to her critically acclaimed artwork to Susan Miller who self-published her calendar. The inks are rich, the paper heavy, glossy, and snow white, allowing Gloria's paintings to jump off the page. Each month, from January 2014 though the extra bonus month, January 2015, is found an inspirational quote from Gloria, centering on her philosophy of living life fully and creatively. With fourteen of Gloria's paintings, this calendar will soon become a collector's edition and will not be reprinted when stocks are gone.

Aside from having happy, vibrant art to look at all year, The Year Ahead 2014 calendar has many other uses, unlike any you have had in a calendar before. On every important day of each month I list the aspect and what it means, in easy to understand laymen's language. This means the next time you are about to make an important appointment, and the VIP asks you, "Do you want to come in Monday or Thursday?" you can say you will consult your calendar and know immediately the day to choose.

In a year like 2014, where sparkling aspects will stand side by side difficult ones, this calendar will not be a luxury but a necessity.

Also included in the calendar are:

- All the start and end dates of the retrograde planets in 2014,

- Detailed discussion of the new and full moons (new!)

- The date when planets move into new signs (and how long they will be in that sign), all listed on the same day entry

- The planetary aspects of the four eclipses due in 2014, and explanation of what each eclipse will bring.

No more surprises! Be in the know about upcoming events, so that you can plan your biggest initiations. This calendar is a "must" to keep with you all year, and is available here, from Susan's publisher, but not in bookstores or other retailers. Get it now, while you can: $17.99 plus tax and shipping. We ship to all nations of the world:

A New Service:

Don't we all love a bargain?

We all want to know about the deals being offered nearby in our neighborhoods to save money. I found a way when a brilliant entrepreneur, Luis Sanchez, came to see me to show me he had developed a way of seeing all the various deal-of the-day websites that are featuring discounts on food, entertainment, boutiques, and other establishments, all in one click. Traveling? All you need to do is enter the zip code of your new neighborhood as you travel each day and you can see the deals that may be just across the street from your hotel.

The company is called and is ready to use today. It is a New York-based startup with a location-based search engine that gives you access to thousands of local online deals in a single site.

For now, is only available in the United States. It covers most of the deals and services you would see from various sources (Groupon, Amazon, Google deals, and so forth) all at once, so you don't have to go from site to site to find a deal that appeals to you, as Luis would humorously say, "until your head hurts." There is no registration necessary, and no useless emails to stuff your inbox each day.

Just type your address or ZIP code and get the deals you want when you want them. You pull in your information, which is far better than having many emails pushed to you. Try it and like the service on Facebook!

A word about the web address of

You may be wondering, what exactly is .US?

You might have thought the domain ending .us would only be only for government agencies and schools, but since 2002, individuals, businesses, churches, and non-profits have adopted .US web addresses to make their mark on the Internet. The .US is a new domain ending.

Just remember the name of the new service that no doubt you will be using quite a bit: pronounced as "wi-five-dot-us" otherwise seen as:

In the past it used to be that only those living in New York City and Los Angeles had this option, but now, through new shipping technology, UPS and FedEx have been working with Chefs Diets to find ways to ship and still keep your food as fresh as it was when it left the Chefs Diet kitchens. I simply cannot get over how delicious and carefully prepared these meals are day after day. Meals won't repeat for 90 days so you will love the variety!

You will get three meals a day, with breakfast and dinner a hot meal, and lunch a cold one for convenience. You will also get two satisfying snacks. Best of all, you can change your menu if you see something on the program you'd like to change by very simply logging on to your account and choosing a different meal from the pull down menu. If you have special dietary needs, you can choose the right program for you from the options on the Chefs Diet website. I am NOT diabetic, but I saw that that the diabetic menu had lots of protein to keep me feeling peppy from dawn to the wee hours of the morning. (If you are on social media, you see I often post in the middle of the night - a writer's work is never done.) I love knowing that if I just eat the food given to me each day I will lose weight. There is no thinking, no shopping, no weighing foods or adding points - so easy!

Television producers have told me they rely on Chefs Diets when an actor, male or female, needs to lose weight for a role. It was through that comment of a top producer that I originally found this great company.

Of course, you should always check with your doctor before starting any new dietary program.
